Seychelles Real Estate & Property
Real estate
property in Seychelles Islands is located at the western part of the Indian
Ocean and the islands are spread over an Exclusive Economic Zone of 1.3 million
square kilometers. The Seychelles Islands, 115 granite and coral Islands,
benefit by an exceptional tropical climate. This makes Seychelles a favorite
destination for those wanting to escape the winter’s cold.
Mahe, the largest island of the Seychelles, lies some 1800km off the east coast
of Africa. The Seychelles Islands are just a marine mile away from Mauritius.
40 granite islands could be found within a 50 meter radius around Mahe. These
are mountainous in nature. The rest are coral islands and have flat surfaces.
These islands are usually much greater in area than the granite ones.
There are lots of prime real estate properties in Seychelles. The government
restricts intensive construction. Most of the architecture in Seychelles
respects the environment. With just around 82,000 citizens, most living in
Mahe, Seychelles is a great place to live if you enjoy nature.
If you’re looking for beach real estate property then Seychelles is the place
for you. Most of the beaches are untouched and pristine. You can find your very
own tropical paradise in one of the 115 islands of Seychelles. Nearly 50% of
the total land area of Seychelles is declared either as a protected area or a
national park. The environment is the number concern of its government.
Once thought to be expensive, real estate property in Seychelles is now
affordable. Actually there’s a new addition to the total islands of Seychelles.
A man-made island called Eden is shaping up. It lies just off the coast of
Mahe. This is the first real estate property made available for foreigners at
market price. Before Eden, foreigners can own property in Seychelles but they
have to shell out tons of money. Foreigners must first enter into a deal with
the government in order to purchase a property.
Well not anymore. Eden’s home cost almost a tenth of the price paid on most
foreign-owned property in the main islands. The island features sports
facilities like squash and tennis courts, swimming pools and a gymnasium. Eden
also has bars and restaurants. But to feel the real Seychelles atmosphere you
have to go off the island and into one of the main islands.
The most expensive real estate property is located at the islands of Mahe and
Praslin. Mahe remains to be the center of Seychelles’ trade and tourism
industry. It is also the hub for island hopping.
Praslin is the second largest island of Seychelles. The demand for property
here is high, with the trend of buying and selling beachfront homes on the
high. These are easier than say buy a lot and then construct your own home.
You’ll have a hard time having your plans approved, finding the right supplier
for the construction and dealing with the contractors.
Seychelles is the destination if you want to enjoy the sun the whole year
round. Hope someday you discover Seychelles for yourself.
